Solar Victoria Home Packages Program
The Federal and Victorian Governments have introduced incentives that are make going Solar more appealing and accessible to Australians than ever before.
According to a statement made by a representative of the Victorian Government, a 4kW system, which the average cost for is roughly $4,450 (after the STC point of sale discount), saves the average Victorian household an estimate of about $890 every year.
As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment, it is re-opening the Solar Victoria Home Packages Program to Solar Panels, starting from July 1st, 2019.
The rebate aims at covering up to half (50%) of the cost of installing a Solar Panels System on your roof, capped at $2,225. This amount is roughly half (50%) of the cost of the average 4kW Solar Power System. The incentive, this time round, goes a step further and makes it even easier for homeowners in Melbourne and Regional Victoria by offering a 4-year interest-free finance option for the remaining half (50%) of the system price, also capped at $2,225.
Essentially, what this means is that you can potentially have a solar power system on your roof without paying a cent upfront, and allowing the savings from this system to completely cover the financed portion.

Vic Government Rebate = $2,225 (Half of the $4,450)
Balance financed by the Vic Government = $2,225 (Other half of the $4,450)
