RESIDENTIAL SOLAR POWER

RESIDENTIAL SOLAR TAILORED FOR YOUR HOME

The household or residential solar panel system, undoubtedly, is the foundation on which our business was built. It’s been a long time since we’ve had such an exciting and thriving market for residential solar panel installations and rooftop solar systems in Australia.

The use of fossil fuels has seen record numbers of decline, with more and more people switching to clean, renewable energy like you couldn’t believe.

That’s right; just this year alone there have been over 100 thousand residential solar installations across Australia, with the largest driver for this being the drastic increases in energy bills and the need for many people to scrap those bills and reduce their reliance on our vulnerable electricity grids.

Many also do so for the noble cause of helping out nature by not contributing any more pollution into what amounts are already present naturally, and we absolutely love the cause.

How Solar Panels Work

In a Nutshell

How Solar Works.

Firstly, when the Sun is out and shining, the solar panels installed on your roof soak in and convert the energy that sits within its light into Direct Current (DC) electricity. This happens because, when the photons from sunlight strike the silicone cells in the solar panel, electrons are released. These freed electrons race around and, with the aid of an electric field, create energy in the process.

The electrons then flow through the panel and string, eventually making their way to the installed solar inverter. The inverter, then, takes this energy and converts the DC power from the panels to a usable 240-Volt Alternate Current (AC) electricity.

This AC power is then immediately passed through your house electrical network, and, as it is being generated, it is utilized to operate any household electrical appliances you may have on at the time.

You may be generating more electricity from your solar home panels, at any given time, that required and used up to power your home. If that happens to be the case, in most Australian on-grid residential set-ups, the excess power produced by your system is fed back into the grid.

Electricity that gets fed back in to the grid is power you are essentially selling back to your electricity provider, which means your electricity provider will credit you for it on your power bill. This credit is referred to as a “feed-in-tariff”, and it may vary depending on what time of day your systems is feeding excess power into the grid.
